Transformers are to blame for the rise in profits Hasbro has seen over the last year. Hasbro earned $165.6 million in the last 3 months up to December 2009, beating the expected earnings of $123 million for that quarter. The previous year Hasbro did $93.6 million for the same time period, so they’re going along nicely.
Brian Holder, Hasbro’s Chief Executive expects the company’s earning and revenues to continue growing. There’s also higher labor costs but the earning are making up for sufficient margin. It was hinted in the press release that I’ve read and I just thought to mention it since revenue doesn’t make up for everything. A company could be making a lot of revenue but it could also be on the red if they’re expending a lot, which is not the case with Hasbro.
Hasbro is still second place to Mattel, but at least they’re moving along swiftly.
